Part A. Adding or updating a credit card to your PayPal Account

To add a new credit card:

1. On the PayPal site, once you are logged in, click on the ‘Profile’ subtab.
2. Choose the ‘Credit Cards’ link from the Financial Information column.
3. If your subscription failed because you need to update your credit card expiry date, you may be able to update it by clicking the ‘Edit’ button next to it.
4. Otherwise, add a new credit card, by clicking on the ‘Add’ button.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the new credit card to your PayPal account.

Part B. Updating your PayPal subscription to BandPress if you added a new credit card

1. On the PayPal, click on the ‘History’ subtab.
2. Check the date range and set it far enough back to include when you signed up for your subscription.
3. Choose ‘Subscriptions’ from the “More Filters” menu.
4. Click the Search button
5. Find your BandPress subscription and click on its “Details” link. If you are having trouble finding it, you can do an Advanced Search for email address: support@bandpress.org by clicking on the Advanced Search under the History tab — just make sure to check the dates you are searching on.
6. Under ‘Subscription Funding Source’ choose your new credit card from one of the drop-downs.

Note: If you remove your current credit card before adding the new one and changing the funding source on your subscription, then PayPal will cancel your subscription to your membership at BandPress.

Visual Editor Links

To add a link using the Visual editor:

1. Highlight the text you want to link.
2. Click the link button on the toolbar.
3. A popup will appear with configuration options for the link.
   Link URL – The URL of the link (include http:// at the start for external websites)
   Target – Select if you want the link to open in a new window
   Title – Title of the link when a visitor hovers over it (a small tooltip will appear with the title)
   Class – Advanced. Specify a CSS class for the link
4. After setting the options, click the Insert button, and the highlighted text will change to the color blue with an underline to signify a link.

Whenever you are in your websites’s administration screens and have a question, look for the Help option in the upper right corner of the page.

Support Documentation

Our Help site has a lot of great documentation to answer your questions. We have videos, screenshots, and walkthroughs detailing many of the problems users encounter while using BandPress. Search through the documentation and you’ll likely learn some extra tips as you go.

Forums

The BandPress Forums are a great place to get support as well. Staff are active members in the forums, but there are a lot of volunteers ready an willing to help as well. Most of the forum volunteers are veteran BandPress users who started out just like you. They’ll surely have some tips and tricks to help with most questions.

Be sure to make use of the forum’s search feature to locate previous discussions that could provide the solution to your problem.

If there is a plugin that you feel is a must-have and would benefit users on BandPress, then please let us know using our Forums under ideas! Tell us what plugin you want, where it can be downloaded and most importantly, why you think it should be included on BandPress.

Where Can I Access Comments?

There are several locations where you can get access to your comments.

Comments Screen

The area with the most power for working with comments is the Comments screen, which can be accessed by clicking on Comments in the menu.

You can also use the Shortcuts menu in the upper right to access the Comments Screen.

You’ll have options to Unapprove, Approve, Mark as Spam, and Delete. After making your selection, click the Apply button, and the comments will be updated.

A BandPress Theme is a collection of files that work together to produce a graphical interface with an underlying, unifying design for a website. BandPress currently has a very diverse collection of  themes (and we’re always adding more!) which you can easily preview and activate from the Appearance → Themes area of any website’s dashboard.

To view all of the themes available to you (as well as preview and activate them), you can access the Appearance → Themes menu option in your website’s dashboard. You can change themes at any time. If you do not see the Appearance menu option, this means that you are not an administrator on the website.

Uploading Your Header

Go to Appearance → Custom Image Header in your website’s dashboard. If you do not see the option, this means that your current theme does not support the use of a custom image header.

Browse for the file on your computer and click Upload. Only .jpeg, .gif, and .png files can be used. All cropped images will be converted to jpegs.

Important: Using an image of exactly the right size will produce the best results, and this is certainly recommended.

If you did not upload an image that matches the exact dimensions of your current theme’s header, you will need to crop it accordingly.

Click the Crop Header button, and you should receive a message that the upload was successful.

The image should appear immediately. If it does not, please contact Support with the issue. Be sure to provide a detailed description of the header image that you attempted to upload and/or attach the image file so that we can take a closer look.

Other Options
You also have a few other customization options available to you. If you wish to remove the blog title (and tagline, if it appears) from the header, you can click on the Hide Text button.

Once the text is removed, click Save Changes.

If you wish to maintain the blog title and tagline, you also have the option to change the text color. The Select a Text Color option will do the trick.

If you consider yourself to be CSS-savy, use our Custom CSS option, which allows you to edit the stylesheet of any BandPress theme.
