How do I change my Paypal Credit Card?

You can change the funding source of your Subscription by following the
steps below:

First log in to your PayPal account:

https://www.paypal.com

Now:

Part A. Adding or updating a credit card to your PayPal Account

To add a new credit card:

  1. On the PayPal site, once you are logged in, click on the ‘Profile’ subtab.
  2. Choose the ‘Credit Cards’ link from the Financial Information column.
  3. If your subscription failed because you need to update your credit card expiry date, you may be able to update it by clicking the ‘Edit’ button next to it.
  4. Otherwise, add a new credit card, by clicking on the ‘Add’ button.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the new credit card to your PayPal account.

Part B. Updating your PayPal subscription to BandPress if you added a new credit card

  1. On the PayPal, click on the ‘History’ subtab.
  2. Check the date range and set it far enough back to include when you signed up for your subscription.
  3. Choose ‘Subscriptions’ from the “More Filters” menu.
  4. Click the Search button
  5. Find your BandPress subscription and click on its “Details” link. If you are having trouble finding it, you can do an Advanced Search for email address: support@bandpress.org by clicking on the Advanced Search under the History tab — just make sure to check the dates you are searching on.
  6. Under ‘Subscription Funding Source’ choose your new credit card from one of the drop-downs.

Note: If you remove your current credit card before adding the new one and changing the funding source on your subscription, then PayPal will cancel your subscription to your membership at BandPress.

Help in the Administration Screens

Whenever you are in your websites’s administration screens and have a question, look for the Help option in the upper right corner of the page.

Support Documentation

Our Help site has a lot of great documentation to answer your questions. We have videos, screenshots, and walkthroughs detailing many of the problems users encounter while using BandPress. Search through the documentation and you’ll likely learn some extra tips as you go.

Forums

The BandPress Forums are a great place to get support as well. Staff are active members in the forums, but there are a lot of volunteers ready an willing to help as well. Most of the forum volunteers are veteran BandPress users who started out just like you. They’ll surely have some tips and tricks to help with most questions.

Be sure to make use of the forum’s search feature to locate previous discussions that could provide the solution to your problem.

Changing Your Password

To Change your password:

  1. In the Admin Panel, go to User
  2. From the Your Profile tab, scroll to the bottom and type in the new password in the two boxes provided.

Domain Mapping

What is Domain Mapping?

Domain Mapping allows you to map a domain name that you already own or a newly purchased domain (example: www.mydomain.com) to you BandPress url (websitename.BandPress.org).

Setting up a Mapped Domain

  1. You need to own a domain name 1st. If you do not already own a domain name you can buy one at Godaddy.com or any other domain register.
  2. After you have purchased a domain name click Tools from the main admin menu.
  3. Click Domain Mapping.
  4. Add your domain name and click Save.
  5. Check “Make Primary”
  6. Next you will need to go to where you registered your domain name and add a DNS record that points to your BandPress web address.

Creating DNS records at your Register

  • You will need to create a CNAME record at your register to point to your BandPress URL.
  • Create or edit a CNAME record at your host where the alias www points to domains.bandpress.org

  • Next you will need to forward you domain to your mapped domain. So for example if you mapped domain is www.myband.com, you will need to forward myband.com to www.myband.com. Instructions For Godaddy

Currently, you are permitted to upload the following file types:

  • jpg
  • jpeg
  • png
  • gif
  • mp3
  • pdf

FTP Access

We do not allow FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access to any BandPress.org website. To upload images and documents, first check the accepted files help page to make sure filetype you would like to add is allowed. You can upload files directly from the editor when you are creating or editing a post. This makes it very easy to upload files without  ever having to stop editing your content!
